The treatments are initiated usually with pharmacological oral medications and are complimented with injections and blocks when he patient does not get enough relief. These are performed under local anesthesia and sedation is added if the patient is very nervous.
Almost all injections and blocks are performed as outpatient cases. The patient goes on his own feet after the treatment is finished.
The injections that can be performed are varied:
Epidural Steroid Injection
Facet Joint Block
Selective nerve root block
Infiltration of trigger points
Lumbar sympathetic block and stellate ganglion block
Iontophoresis
Intravenous lidocaine
Epidurolysis (epidural lysis of adhesions) and epiduroscopy
